Biography of LeVelle Salter, Sr. (DJ1LUV)
LeVelle Salter, Sr., known as DJ1LUV, is a professional, energetic, and charismatic entertainer with a deep-rooted passion for music. His journey began at the young age of three when he started singing and playing percussion. Growing up in a musically gifted family, he traveled with his father’s gospel quartet, The Vision Gospel Singers, and played percussion for the award-winning Westwood Marching Band.
With strong Memphis roots and a family history of musical excellence, LeVelle draws inspiration from his cousin, Willie “Too Big” Hall, a legendary drummer for The Blues Brothers who played alongside icons like Isaac Hayes and Al Green. He also honors the legacy of his late uncle, Toby Webb, a world-renowned bassist.
Today, LeVelle owns and operates DJ1LUV Entertainment, a premier mobile DJ and entertainment business. His talent and dedication have earned him multiple accolades, including the WeddingWire Awards (2016-2020) and a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions to the Memphis Community for his work with The Bully The Bull Foundation.
LeVelle is also the premier DJ for Uniquely Yours Wedding & Event Planning. His expertise extends to major events, having provided DJ services for Mike Epps’ “Fabulously Funny Comedy Tour” at The Landers Center. Additionally, he has mentored young musicians at the Stax-Soulsville Music Academy, further cementing his impact on the Memphis music scene.
